70 Palestinians martyred since dawn amid relentless Israeli attacks

In Al-Tuffah, Gaza's Civil Defense reported a humanitarian emergency after a three-story residential building was struck, trapping around 30 people under the rubble.

At least 70 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to the enclave’s Ministry of Health, as occupation forces intensified bombardment on densely populated civilian areas. According to officials, the attacks targeted homes, humanitarian teams, and medical facilities.

One of the deadliest strikes occurred in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, where an Israeli air raid leveled eight homes that were sheltering displaced families. More than 30 people were confirmed killed in the assault.

In the northern neighborhood of Al-Rimal, at least nine individuals were killed when Israeli forces targeted crews distributing humanitarian aid—raising alarm among relief organizations and international observers.

Further east, in Al-Tuffah, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported a humanitarian emergency after a three-story residential building was struck, trapping around 30 people under the rubble. “We received numerous distress calls,” said Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal. “We are unable to rescue those trapped due to the lack of heavy equipment, and we appeal to the international community and human rights organizations to intervene immediately to protect civilians in Gaza.”

Adding to the crisis, Israeli forces forcibly evacuated staff and patients from Al-Awda Hospital in Tel al-Zaatar—the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza—after days of siege and repeated bombardment. The hospital’s closure leaves vast areas of the region without medical care amid a growing casualty count and deteriorating infrastructure.

Since the resumption of the war on March 18, Gaza’s health authorities say more than 54,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 123,000 injured.

The renewed escalation follows reports that Hamas is reviewing a ceasefire proposal submitted by US envoy Steve Witkoff. Critics argue that such diplomatic efforts lack meaningful guarantees to curb Israeli aggression, even as civilian suffering intensifies.
