Israel targets Hind Rajab Foundation amid rising legal pressure over Gaza genocide

The Hind Rajab Foundation, an international human rights organization based in Brussels, has accused the Israeli government of launching a coordinated campaign to undermine its work by targeting its leadership and attempting to disrupt its legal operations.

In an official statement, the Foundation revealed that Israeli authorities recently issued a sanctions list naming 50 individuals, including its president, Diab Abu Jahja, two of its founding members, and three lawyers who have previously collaborated on legal cases.

The move, according to the Foundation, is part of a broader effort to obstruct its pursuit of accountability for Israeli officials and soldiers accused of war crimes against Palestinians.

The Foundation warned that the Israeli government is dedicating substantial financial and institutional resources to derail its legal efforts, particularly its work in preparing lawsuits in European and international courts.

It further said that reliable information indicates that a major disinformation campaign is imminent—aimed at delegitimizing the Foundation and manipulating public opinion, especially in pro-Palestinian advocacy circles.

“This is not a random act,” the statement said. “It reflects growing Israeli concern over the increasing legal momentum against political and military leaders accused of crimes related to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

The organization was named after Hind Rajab, a five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed along with six family members on January 29, 2024, when IOF forces struck the vehicle they were aboard near Gaza City.

Established in February 2024, the Hind Rajab Foundation documents Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians and works to hold Israeli officials accountable through international legal channels.

The Foundation has become increasingly visible in legal advocacy circles, drawing attention from international human rights organizations and legal experts for its methodical approach to documenting violations and pursuing justice.
