Trump confirms Gaza ceasefire deal is close

United States President Donald Trump has said his administration is working on a solution that could be good for Gaza, hours after issuing what he called a final warning to Hamas.
US President Donald Trump claimed Sunday that Israel has accepted his ceasefire terms, also issuing a warning to Palestinian resistance group Hamas to do the same.
Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well.
Trump threatened consequences if Hamas rejects the offer, stating: “I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!
Israel claimed Sunday that it is seriously considering a comprehensive ceasefire and hostage swap deal proposed by US President Donald Trump.
Israel is seriously considering President Trump’s proposal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
According to Israel’s public broadcaster KAN and Channel 12, Trump’s proposal carries fundamental changes compared to previous proposals.
The Palestinian group Hamas said Sunday that it had received a new US ceasefire proposal through mediators and expressed its readiness to resume negotiations.
We received some ideas from the American side through mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement, the group said in a statement on Telegram.
It welcomed any move that supports efforts to stop the aggression on our people.
Trump said on Friday that he is engaged in very deep negotiations with the Palestinian group Hamas, which had agreed to the latest proposal of mediators Qatar and Egypt on Aug. 18.
Trump’s ultimatum comes as international pressure mounts for a ceasefire agreement that would halt Israel’s military offensive, which has killed more than 64,000 Palestinians since October 2023, according to Gaza authorities, leaving the enclave facing famine conditions.
Hamas has repeatedly declared its readiness to conclude a comprehensive deal with Israel to release all Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, end the war on Gaza, and ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. However, Netanyahu has rejected such proposals, insisting instead on partial arrangements that would allow him to delay and impose new conditions at each stage of negotiations.
