Tunisia: Deputy Begins Hunger Strike due to Brotherhood Violence

A hunger strike to invite the president of the Tunisian parliament to issue a statement denouncing the violence that took place in the courtroom in December and of those responsible. It is the initiative of the deputy Samia Abbou of the democratic group, the second most represented force in numerical terms.

On social media Samia Abbou traces what happened, namely the verbal and physical aggression carried out by the members of the Brotherhood group against colleagues in the democratic group.

The deputy has repeatedly remarked on the inertia of the President of Parliament, who never officially took a position on the matter, suggesting a sort of “complicity” in the choice of “justifying the violence”.
