Saudi Crown Prince, Putin discuss prospects for cooperation with BRICS

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a fruitful telephone conversation at the initiative of the Saudi side.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination within the framework of OPEC Plus, which aims to ensure the stability of the world oil market. They also discussed the prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the BRICS association.

Apart from discussing economic and trade relations, the leaders also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East. The efforts made by Russia and Saudi Arabia to resolve the crises in the region were discussed in detail.

The Kremlin also reported that the leaders considered several issues on the bilateral agenda, with a focus on expanding mutually beneficial ties in the fields of trade, economy, investment, and energy. Putin expressed his satisfaction with the level of coordination within OPEC Plus, which has been successful in stabilizing the global oil market.

In a friendly and constructive manner, Putin congratulated the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Both leaders agreed to build up contacts in specific areas of cooperation.

Moreover, they also discussed the prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the BRICS Union, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. This alliance has the potential to open up new opportunities for economic and trade ties between Saudi Arabia and the member countries of BRICS.
