Trump continues efforts to reach an agreement between Russia and Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that he remains committed to the idea of reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, despite growing uncertainty regarding the prospect of personal negotiations between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
He stated this in an interview with CBS television.
I’ve been watching this, I’ve seen it and talked about it during bilateral negotiations with Putin and Zelensky. Something has to happen, but they’re not ready yet. We will achieve our goal, said the US president.
Trump characterized his position as realistically optimistic, saying that he is closely monitoring how both leaders are trying to resolve this issue.
Nevertheless, the White House head emphasized that securing peace between Russia and Ukraine has proven more difficult than he had previously assumed.
Honestly, I thought Russia would be the easiest of those that I stopped, but it seems it turned out to be a bit more complicated than the others, he said.
Trump mentioned his good relationship with both sides and that it would be over for all to see the coming weeks.
My relationship with all of them is very good. We’re going to find out how good it is over the next week or two, he said.
On Tuesday evening, Trump accused Xi, Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong un — who also attended the ceremony — of conspiring against the US at the gathering.
May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America, he said on his social media platform, Truth Social.
