Venezuela Claims to Have Thwarted U.S. Conspiracy Amid Growing Regional Tensions

Venezuela announced on Monday that it had dismantled a “criminal cell” linked to the CIA, following what Caracas described as a recent operation intended to “justify an aggression” by the United States, whose military presence in the region continues with a new bomber flight.
This “cell” allegedly sought to attack the U.S. Navy ship USS Gravely, docked in Trinidad and Tobago for military exercises, in order to incriminate Caracas, said Foreign Minister Yvan Gil.
