At least 64,368 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
Six Palestinians were killed and others wounded on Saturday as Israeli occupation forces carried out multiple airstrikes targeting civilians and tents sheltering displaced families in Gaza City and Khan Younis.
According to local sources, an Israeli drone strike on Al-Yarmouk Street in Gaza City, killing two people and injuring several others.
In another attack, a drone targeted a group of Palestinians in the Al-Amal neighborhood, northwest of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, resulting in two additional fatalities.
Two more Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces bombed a tent housing displaced members of the Abu Mashayekh family in the Al-Mawasi area, southwest of Khan Younis.
The sources also reported that Israeli forces shelled three homes belonging to the Al-Dayeh, Abu Dalal, and Al-Ja’al families in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
At least nine Palestinians were killed and others injured on Saturday afternoon in ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis.
Eight people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a home belonging to the Abu Tayeh family in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.
A Palestinian child was also killed and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.
The Israeli army warned residents about an hour ago to evacuate the Al-Susi Tower, the Al-Ru’ya Building, and the adjacent tents in Gaza City, in preparation for their bombing. This is an ongoing escalation targeting the remaining towers, and a move aimed at forcing residents to flee south.
According to medical sources, the death toll since dawn today has risen to 21, including 13 in Gaza City.
A ministry statement said that 68 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 362 people were injured, taking the number of injuries to 162,367 in the Israeli onslaught.
Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them, it added.
The ministry also noted that 23 Palestinians were killed and over 143 others injured by Israeli army fire while trying to get humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 2,385, with over 17,577 others wounded since May 27.
The ministry said that six more Palestinians, including a child, died of malnutrition and starvation in the last 24 hours. This brought the famine-linked death toll since October 2023 to 382 people, including 135 children.
