Hebrew media reports that Netanyahu has decided to fully occupy the Gaza Strip

Israeli officials said on Monday evening that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has definitively decided to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, with the expansion of military operations supported by a green light from the U.S., aiming to recover the prisoners believed to be held by Hamas in certain areas. Channel “12” reported that the decision has been officially made, and Israel will begin implementing the comprehensive occupation plan for the sector.
Sources clarified that Netanyahu confirmed that Hamas would not release any of the prisoners without complete surrender, and that Israel would not back down from its position, noting that Israeli forces would fight in areas they had avoided in recent months, including camps in the center of the sector, with the aim of imposing full control over the region.
In a related context, the official Hebrew broadcasting authority reported that ministers who spoke with Netanyahu said that he decided to expand the scope of the military operation despite disagreements within the security establishment, emphasizing that the goal is to fully occupy the sector to ultimately defeat Hamas. The authority indicated that Netanyahu used the phrase “occupation of the sector” as a strategic objective of the operation during his discussions with the ministers.
Netanyahu has made a decision to fully occupy the Gaza Strip and expand military operations against Hamas to ensure the complete surrender of the captured prisoners.
Sources claimed that there is an agreement between Israel and the United States that Hamas is not currently seeking to reach a peace agreement, and that military escalation is the only option to achieve Israeli objectives in the region. This development comes amid rising tensions and Israeli preparations for a large-scale operation in the sector, in an attempt to end Hamas’s influence permanently.
The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that senior officials in Netanyahu’s circle stated that “the goal is a complete occupation of the Gaza Strip,” with plans to carry out military operations in the areas where the hostages are held, aiming to free them or impose control over them. The newspaper noted that unnamed sources confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump granted Netanyahu the green light to launch a wide-ranging military operation against Hamas, as part of mutual understandings between Israel and the United States.
