Israeli Soldiers Killed, Wounded in Gaza in Major Security Incident – Resistance Roundup – Day 724

A major security incident was reported in the Nasr neighborhood west of Gaza City on Monday, with clashes taking place between Resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Resistance movement, announced that its fighters had successfully sniped an Israeli soldier near the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, amid other security incidents on Monday.

“Our fighters were able to snipe a zionist soldier atop one of the houses in the vicinity of Al-Shati Camp in Gaza City, directly hitting him,” the Brigades said in a statement.

A major security incident was also reported in the Nasr neighborhood west of Gaza City on Monday, with clashes taking place between Resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces.

Helicopters were reportedly observed transporting wounded soldiers after an anti-tank missile was fired at soldiers.

Also on Monday, the group said it had seized a “quadcopter aircraft while it was carrying out intelligence missions in the central Gaza Strip.”

Earlier Incidents

In a separate statement, the Brigades reported that its fighters clashed on Saturday afternoon with an Israeli special forces unit transported by Hummer vehicles in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

“Our fighters achieved direct hits among the ranks of the zionist force,” the statement noted.

According to our reporters, the Brigades also claimed responsibility for destroying an Israeli military vehicle last Saturday using an MK84 missile left over from the Israeli bombing near Al-Quds Hospital in the same neighborhood. This resulted in deaths and injuries among Israeli forces, according to the statement.

The statement added that the Brigades’ fighters monitored Israeli aircraft landing in the targeted area to evacuate the dead and wounded.

In a related development, Israeli Army Radio reported that two rockets were fired from the northern Gaza Strip, but they fell short of entering Israeli territory.

In the occupied West Bank, an Israeli army spokesperson said that a soldier from the 890th Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade was killed in a ramming attack in the northern West Bank on Sunday.

For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had targeted an Israeli command and control site east of the al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City with several mortar shells.

Ongoing Genocide

Since reneging on the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has continued its bloody aerial bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding thousands of Palestinians.

Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 66,000 Palestinians, with more than 168,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.

In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.

Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.
