Barcelona continue to rearrange their cards and announce new offers

Barcelona continue to rearrange their cards according to their tight budget by agreeing to buy back Real Betis right-back Emerson on Wednesday.

Barcelona said they implemented the purchase clause in Emerson’s loan deal after allowing him to play for Real Betis in La Liga for the past two and a half years.

Barcelona signed Emerson from Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro in January 2019 for € 12 million ($ 14.6 million), but immediately loaned him to Betis.

The 22-year-old right-back played a key role in Betis’ ranks and provided ten assists last season.

He helped coach Manuel Pellegrini’s team achieve sixth place in the league and ensure participation in the Europa League.

7;s contract with Barcelona runs for another three years, knowing that, according to the Associated Press, he is likely to compete with American Sergino Dest and veteran Sergi Roberto.

Emerson’s signing comes after Barcelona announced the inclusion of former Manchester City players Sergio Agüero and Eric Garcia in a free transfer deal after their contracts expire.

The new club president Juan Laporta wants to add talent to the team that won the King’s Cup this season but finished third in the Spanish league and eliminated from the European Champions League in the round of 16.

Laporta’s main goal is to convince Lionel Messi to move on with the team after his contract expires at the end of this month.
