Iraq: More than 350 ISIS terrorists killed from Al-Hasakah prison

The Security Media Cell in Iraq announced the killing of more than 350 ISIS terrorist elements, who were being held in Al-Hasakah prison in Syria while trying to escape from it.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the cell reported: “The Joint Operations Command followed up on the recent attempt to escape the terrorists’ detainees in Al-Hasakah prison in the Syrian Arab Republic, and the security units immediately began taking the necessary measures to fully secure the Iraqi borders in cooperation and coordination with the advisors of the International Coalition.

After checking the information, it was found This operation was an attempt to release 4,400 terrorists held in al-Hasakah prison, as those responsible for planning and carrying out the attack were either killed or arrested.

And she continued: “The Joint Operations Command confirms, through the available and accurate information collected with the advisers of the international coalition, that approximately 3,900 of these terrorists are being held securely in a new prison, and the presence of nearly 100 terrorists has been secured in hospitals.”

And the statement continued: “In the context of precautionary measures, the Iraqi forces conducted a comprehensive security inspection of all Iraqi prisons, and the capabilities of our heroic security forces on the border with Syria were also started.”

The Joint Operations Command confirmed, according to the statement, that “more than 350 detainees from ISIS elements who took up arms during this failed attempt were killed during the attack, and the death toll is expected to rise as the number of ISIS terrorists continues to be counted, as additional analysis and recovery operations must be completed before No additional evaluation.

She concluded by saying: “The Joint Operations Command commends the courage and role of the parties that were able to thwart this attempt and respond to the ISIS attack in Al-Hasakah. We would also like to assure everyone that the heroic Iraqi security forces are able to secure the borders and that the qualitative preemptive operations they implement had a great impact on Defeating terrorism, pursuing it, and just retribution against anyone who tries to tamper with security.”

The Great Industrial Prison in the Ghweran neighborhood in the city of Hasaka, northeastern Syria, on the evening of January 20, was attacked, considered the largest by ISIS since it was defeated in Syria in March 2019, which began with the detonation of two car bombs and continued with a shooting operation.

After several days of clashes, the “Syrian Democratic Forces”, whose backbone is the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, managed to regain control of the facility.
