Lavrov Reveals Details of Updated Foreign Policy Concept
The updated foreign policy concept will talk about the need to stop the monopoly of the West on the formation of the framework of international life, the framework should be determined not in the egoistic interests of the West, but based on a fair balance of interests, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reported.
“Our updated foreign policy concept will already talk about the need to stop the West’s monopoly on shaping the framework of international life, the framework should henceforth be determined not in its selfish interests, but on a fair universal basis of balance of interests, as required by the UN charter, which enshrines the principle of sovereign equality of all states,” Lavrov said during a speech at the government hour at the State Duma.
“The Anglo-Saxons and the rest of the collective West, who obey them unquestioningly, seek to impose their dictate in world affairs at any cost, to continue to control the external conditions of the development of all mankind for their own domination throughout the world, resorting to illegal methods of threats, blackmail and even outright theft to punish those who conduct an independent nationally oriented policy,” Lavrov noted.
The head of the Russian diplomacy added that Russia is “trying to hinder, set back decades, or even derail the country’s development under the slogans of decolonization and preparations for Russia’s disintegration.”
