Palestinians return to the streets demanding Abbas’s resign

After the threats by Mahmoud Al-Aloul, a member of the Central Committee of Fatah movement, against protesters refusing the political arrests and the crime of assassinating the activist Nizar Banat, the protests condemning the assassination of Banat’s opponents and the attacks by the security services on the demonstrators started again today, Sunday, in the center of Ramallah.

The protesters called the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to leave, holding of Palestinian elections, Punish those responsible for the murder of Banat and attacking protesters.

The demonstrators chanted several slogans, “Leave, go, go Abbas,” “We want elections,”

They demanded In a statement, an independent, fair investigation in the crime of Banat murder, and all those who are proven to be involved in the crime be brought to national, societal and legal justice, dismiss the leaders of the security services and restructure them according to a national doctrine and leave the Dayton doctrine.

They also demanded those involved in the crimes of assaulting peaceful protests be brought to justice for violating the Basic Law, and the dismissal of the Palestinian government “because it’s responsible for all the crimes and abuses that occurred.”
