Sergey Shoigu inspects Vostok group of forces in Ukraine special operation zone

Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu has inspected the headquarters of the Vostok group of forces active in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

“Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu has inspected the headquarters of the Vostok group of forces active in the zone of the special military operation,” the statement reads.

When visiting the command post of the Vostok group of forces, Shoigu heard a report by its commander Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov on the current situation and the group’s activities, as well as reports from the commanders of troops active in other areas. “The Russian defense minister also heard reports by the commanders of formations and units about the performance of combat missions in key areas,” the ministry said.

The defense chief thanked military personnel for bravely performing their missions in the special operation zone and presented awards to service members. “You are defending our Fatherland, helping those in need and doing everything to bring victory closer,” Shoigu said, addressing the troops.

“The Russian defense minister paid special attention to efforts to ensure comprehensive support for troops involved in the special military operation, organize fortification work and create conditions for the safe accommodation of troops in the field, as well as to the activities of medical and logistics units,” the statement added.
