Tunisian judiciary officially charges Rached Ghannouchi with ‘terrorism’

The Tunisian judiciary officially charges the head of the Ennahda movement, Ghannouchi, with "terrorism".

The Tunisian judiciary officially charged 33 people with belonging to a terrorist organization, including the head of the Ennahda movement and the dissolved parliament speaker, Rached Ghannouchi.

According to lawyer Iman Qazara, 17 charges were brought against 33 people, and the most prominent charge was belonging to a terrorist organization and money laundering.

In an earlier interview with our reporters, a leader of the Popular Front Moubaraka Al-Brahimi pointed out that the judiciary was held hostage by previous governments.

It is noteworthy that earlier a defense committee confirmed, during a press conference, that a travel ban was imposed on 34 defendants in the case of Ennahda movement’s “secret apparatus”, including Rached Ghannouchi.
