Muslim Brotherhood Crisis and Divisions

Brotherhood’s crisis has reached its peak, and has worsened until it is waiting for the moment to officially announce the division.

Mustafa Tolba, the acting leader of the group and appointed by the Istanbul front, issued a sharp statement today, Thursday, in which he refuted and revealed all the violations of Ibrahim Munir, the leader of the London Front, and reiterated his dismissal and the group’s non-recognition of his work as the leader of the guide.

Students announced a list of Munir’s violations and said in his statement that since the beginning of the recent crisis, a lot of incorrect information has been circulated on the tongues of the leaders of Munir’s front, justifying that they have forgotten or because they do not have documents, adding that many people’s circulation and use of this information was to split the ranks and cause confusion among the general public. Brotherhood.

Tolba accused Munir of dictatorship, attempting to be alone in opinion, ignoring the management of the group’s leaders, mechanisms and institutions represented by the General Shura Council, marginalizing it and disregarding its decisions.

Students added that some – meaning Mounir and his companions – imagined that in the absence of the group’s leaders in prisons inside Egypt, the opportunity had become available for them to change the form of the group and transform its origin inside Egypt into a marginal or non-existent branch, and at the same time portraying the group’s branch located abroad. As if he is the group, and the acceptance of some is investing in this to change the structure and structure of the group, indicating that the goal that Munir was seeking was to form a new general Shura Council limited to those outside only to replace the main group entity located at home and which addressed the 2015 crisis, then Forming a guidance office for its part to overthrow the Guidance Office and the current General Shura Council.

Tolba accused Mounir of being alone in his opinion, rejecting all attempts at reform and unity, and his insistence on canceling the group’s general secretariat, canceling the decision of the Association’s office and the Shura Councils of the countries and issuing a decision to hold elections immediately, and accused him of dissolving the Turkey’s Shura office and claiming that the decision was issued in the name of the authority, although it was issued without A quorum and a violation of the authority’s powers.

Tolba also accused Mounir of rejecting an initiative presented by some members of the General Shura at the time to resolve the crisis and marginalizing the role and work of institutions, and of not responding to internal correspondence, whether issued to the person in charge of the work of the General Guide at the time, or issued by members of the body at home to the rest of the body, and responding in a negative manner full of skepticism and marginalization. And the accusation, stressing that the total number of messages exchanged between them amounted to 76 messages, to which Mounir did not respond.

Talaba stated that Munir rejected the decision of the General Shura Council to relieve him of his position, and he was empowered by the media to try to impose this refusal, accusing Munir of trying to communicate what he described as unsafe contact with members of the Brotherhood inside Egypt to try to change their convictions and change the group’s regulations, reiterating that Munir was exempted from His position and the group decided the matter.

Tolba’s statement comes days after the Istanbul Front issued a statement addressed to Munir’s front in which it affirmed full commitment to and respect for the decisions of the group’s General Shura Council, noting that the General Shura Council is the group’s supreme reference in all its affairs, and calling on all members of the group to abide by the decisions of the Shura institutions and submit them to its opinion. private.

Hussein’s Front stressed that the students acting for the guide should remain in his position and its rejection of Munir’s decision to dismiss him, saying that the committee in charge of the work of the general guide is “the highest administrative body in the group according to the decision of the group’s general Shura Council”, and that the Shura Council takes all its decisions in an institutional manner, not in the Brotherhood. No one will be above the institutions of the group, as she put it.

The London Front, led by Munir, and in the context of the conflict between the two conflicting fronts within the ranks of the Brotherhood, decided to dismiss the acting leader of the group, Mustafa Tolba.

In a statement, she confirmed that she did not recognize the decisions of the Istanbul Front or the so-called General Shura Council, explaining that the group’s legitimacy is represented by the Deputy General Guide and Chargé d’Affairs Munir only, and that what happened from the Istanbul Front is a split in the class that requires accountability.

Munir’s Front stated that it considers everyone who participated in this committee to have chosen for himself to leave the group by violating its regulations and literature, calling everyone to work under the legitimate leadership of the deputy guide and the charge d’affaires, and by taking from it and only those who represent it, namely Ibrahim Munir.

The crisis deepened further after the insistence of each of the two fronts of the conflict to take over the administrative, organizational and financial matters within the Brotherhood’s ranks, and its rejection of the decisions of the other front, which makes the way open for the group’s division and transformation into two separate entities.
