Salah is far from the captaincy .. Klopp announces the 6 Liverpool leaders

Mohamed Salah celebrates Liverpool’s fourth goal against Manchester United

It seems that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will find it very difficult to wear the captaincy of his team this season.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp announced the list of team leaders, which was devoid of the name of the Egyptian international.

“The leaders of Liverpool are Jordan Henderson, then James Milner, then Virgil van Dijk,” Klopp told a news conference on Monday.

He added, “The players voted for 3 other leaders, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Alison Becker.”

“Last year we didn’t have anyone to wear the captain’s armband sometimes, so I increased the group of captains.”

Salah wore the armband of Liverpool for the first time last May during the team’s match against Manchester United.

Salah is spending his fifth season with Liverpool, who joined him from Roma for 42 million euros.

In the 210 matches he participated in with Liverpool, Salah scored 131 goals and sent 49 assists.

He won four titles with the team, the 2019 European Champions League, the European Super and the Club World Cup in the same year, then the English Premier League 2019-2020 season.

The Egyptian captain’s contract with Liverpool extends until the summer of 2023.

It is noteworthy that Liverpool renewed his contract this summer with Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Nat Phillips, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Adrian, Herve Elliott and Kaimhen Kelleher.
