Three martyrs in confrontations in the West Bank, and the occupation suppresses a celebration of the Prophet’s birthday in Jerusalem

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of 3 Palestinians and the injury of 11 others – today, Saturday – during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, while 5 Palestinians were injured and others were arrested during the Israeli police suppression of the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday in occupied Jerusalem.

In the city of Jenin (north), thousands participated in the funeral of Mahmoud Al-Sous (17 years), who was killed during the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of Jenin refugee camp, on Saturday morning.

Hundreds of the city’s residents also participated in the funeral of the 17-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Hussein Daraghmeh, before he was transferred to the city of Tubas, where he will be buried in his hometown later on Saturday.

Al-Sous and Daraghmeh were killed, and 11 others were wounded by Israeli army bullets during a several-hour incursion into Jenin refugee camp.

The occupation forces stormed the camp and surrounded it to carry out a military operation that resulted in the arrest of a young man from his home.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces, after they failed to arrest the freed prisoner, Muhammad Abu Zina, arrested his brother.

The Israeli army denied that any of its soldiers were injured during the confrontations.

Thousands also participated in the funeral of the young Mahdi Ladado (17 years), in the village of Al-Mazraa Al-Gharbiyye, north of Ramallah (center).

Palestinian warnings

Meanwhile, the Palestinian presidency warned of a comprehensive explosion if the Israeli escalation continued.

The presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that the Palestinian people are facing an all-out war that did not stop for a single moment, according to what was reported by the official news agency (Wafa).

He added that the daily Israeli attacks led to the death of 4 Palestinian citizens during the past 24 hours in Qalqilya, Ramallah and Jenin.

The presidential spokesman said that the continuation of the escalation in this way will push matters towards a comprehensive explosion and a point of no return, with devastating consequences for all.

Abu Rudeineh called on the US administration to implement its promises to stop all unilateral measures, and to “exercise serious pressure on Israel to stop its comprehensive war against our Palestinian people before it is too late.”

Repression in Jerusalem

In a related context, 5 Palestinians were injured – today, Saturday – and 6 others were arrested during the Israeli police’s suppression of a peaceful scouting event organized in the city center of Jerusalem, in commemoration of the Prophet’s birthday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (non-governmental) said that its crews dealt with 5 injuries near the Bab al-Amoud area.

The association indicated that there were 4 injuries due to beatings, and one fainting.

Eyewitnesses reported – to Anadolu Agency – that Israeli forces stormed in large numbers Bab al-Amud Square in Jerusalem, in conjunction with organizing an event commemorating the Prophet’s birthday, and assaulted the Palestinians participating in the event.

In turn, the Israeli police stated – in a statement seen by Anatolia – that they had arrested 6 Palestinians for provoking riots, during an event commemorating the Prophet’s birthday.

The Palestinians in Jerusalem commemorated – today, Saturday – the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday with a scouting procession that started from Al-Zahraa Street, passing through Salah El-Din and Sultan Suleiman Streets, up to Bab Al-Amoud, and ended in the squares of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
