Israel Bombs Areas Across Gaza, Intensifies Strikes on Rafah

The Israeli occupation kills a number of Palestinians in attacks on central and northern Gaza.

On the 240th day of the genocidal war against Gaza, the Israeli occupation continued to carry out strikes and artillery shelling across the Strip with a focus on Rafah, where the intensity of the bombing increased amid the ongoing invasion of the region.

In Rafah, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Brazil neighborhood in the southern part of the city, injuring several Palestinians and destroying a number of homes.

The occupation heavily shelled the al-Halal Market area and the Qishta neighborhood in southern Rafah, while a house belonging to the Abu Sha’ar family was also shelled in Tel Al-Sultan in the western part of the city.

Simultaneously, central Rafah was attacked by helicopters, which also launched smoke and sonic grenades targeting its neighborhoods.

Jabalia still under fire

In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation military targeted the eastern part of the Jabalia camp with artillery shelling, following a partial withdrawal of its forces after a three-week incursion – which left behind dozens of martyrs, many of whom remain in the camp’s streets.

Heavy Israeli bombing targeted the vicinity of the European Hospital in Khan Younis, while naval ships shelled the al-Mawasi area.

In eastern Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes targeted a house in the Shawwa Square area in the al-Daraj neighborhood, and another house belonging to the Khalifa family in the old town.

The occupation also shelled the vicinity of the University College in the al-Sabra neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of several Palestinians and the injury of others.

Moreover, Israeli artillery also targeted the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the southeast part of the city, while occupation naval boats opened fire toward the beaches in the northwest part of the Strip.

Amid heavy deployment of Israeli Quadcopter drones over western al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, heavy machine guns targeted the camp’s northern region.

The Bureij and al-Maghazi refugee camps, in addition to the towns of Qarara and Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, witnessed heavy shelling accompanied by concentrated fire from machine guns mounted on military vehicles.

Israeli warships also targeted al-Zahraa city and its coast, while the town of al-Maghazi was targeted by artillery. Occupation forces also demolished a series of residential buildings in the area.

Israeli naval vessels also targeted the coast at the western part of Deir Al-Balah.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza stated on Saturday that the number of Palestinian martyrs in the Israeli war on Gaza since last October rose to 36,379, with 82,407 wounded.
