Cairo calls Arab League to an emergency meeting to discuss the Ukrainian crisis

The League of Arab States is holding an emergency meeting at the level of permanent delegates in Cairo at the invitation of Egypt to discuss the developments of the Ukrainian crisis in the wake of the Russian invasion.

“It was decided to hold an extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States tomorrow (Monday) at the level of permanent delegates at the university’s headquarters in Cairo at the request of Egypt,” Assistant Secretary-General of the League Hossam Zaki told our reporters on Sunday.

A statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Cairo called on Sunday for an emergency meeting of the League Council to “discuss the current developments in Ukraine.”
